Erzsebet by Goblin-Queenie
Erzsebet

||Basic Profile||

Name: Irenke Erzsebet (In her culture, last name comes first. So her first name is Erzsebet)
Species: Bajoran
Gender: Female
Age/D.O.B: 30 / 07/07/----
Division: Sciences-Medical
Rank: Lt. Junior Grade

||Personality||

Overall, Bajorans as a whole are known for their friendly demeanor and intense faith. Erzsebet is not far off from the norm in the sense that outsiders and people that have only just made her acquaintance find her to be very kind, intelligent, and quite charismatic. However, when her macabre interests and obsession with her work and research come to the forefront, she tends to leave others feeling rather uncomfortable. This is not done on purpose or as some sort of game; it is simply how she operates. Most of her life, she was close only to her family and to her teachers (of whom whilst they were impressed with her achievement, tended to have very little to do with her on a personal level). Often, she's off in her own little world, pondering and reviewing various tests and ideas in her mind even in the company of others. However, if one were to engage her in conversation concerning a topic she is fond of, expect her to be overtly enthusiastic and perhaps even latch onto the person until they either walk away or loudly interrupt her; reminding her that silence can be wonderful as well.

||History||

Born to the coupling of a Prylar and an artist specializing in the construction of traditional funerary arches, most of Erzsebet's young life was deeply entrenched in the Bajoran faith. From a very young age, she latched onto the concept of the pagh—or soul—that resides in everyone and that, in its absence, the body was merely an empty shell of very little importance. In her teen years, she became fascinated with medicine and surgery, voraciously reading everything possible on the subject. As she grew, her need for answers did too and after the loss of her mother, she became driven to find some way to stave off death and other diseases. Returning to her mother's teachings, she considered the concept of what she referred to as 'vessel recycling' or utilizing pieces of the deceased to help the living—something she had come across in her readings. She wished to have some way to experiment but needed subjects. Desperate to begin, she paid a family for the body of their recently deceased family member . After being found in the midst of her questionable studies, she was brought before the council, pleading her case that she was indeed using the shell only to find a way to save future lives. Disturbed yet sympathetic to what they saw as a still-grieving daughter, she was given permission to attend training off-planet under the watchful eye of Starfleet.

After several years of tutelage, she was granted a position in a lab specializing in such experimental matters very similar to those she had attempted on her own. Although many of her ideas were rather influential in medical breakthroughs, most of her co-workers found themselves not quite comfortable around the passionate and friendly, yet quite 'off' doctor. At the behest of her superior, she was transferred to the Starling, to continue her research and to assist the crew in all their medical needs.

||Other||

The visible scar around her left eye was the result of a flailing, clawed patient, that resisted the sedative in the midst of surgery early on in her time with Starfleet. In a rush to begin the procedure, she made an error in dosage. Since then, she has been careful to triple and quadruple check herself in when performing her duties so as not to add another mark upon her skin or perhaps, lose an eye next time.

By chance to you live at the center of a labyrinth in a castle beyond the goblin city? :)

(From the movie Labyrinth, your name reminds me of it)
